Warm spiced apple-studded coffee cake is an ideal autumn breakfast and brunch treat.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened, for cake)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed, for cake)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 3/4 cups cake flour (or all-purpose flour)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (for cake)
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. salt (for cake)
- 2 Granny Smith apples (medium, peeled and diced into 1/4-inch pieces)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed, for crumble)
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (for crumble)
- 1/8 tsp. salt (for crumble)
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted, for crumble)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a 9-inch square pan liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Place the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to cream the ingredients together on medium-high speed until smooth, 1-2 minutes. Add the eggs, sour cream, and milk, and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 1 minute.

I made this yesterday it turned out great a little dry but if you put cool whip or ice cream on it you just can’t beat it
