I didn’t have any heavy cream, so I subbed with cream of chicken soup. It was delicious! I added a bit of Cajun seasoning as well to spice it up. I made it again last night without the Cajun seasoning and added sautéed yellow onion & a little more garlic. Fabulous again! This is a great recipe as is, and it’s easy to play with it too without messing it up.

I was short a few ounces of tomato, so I added a can of pumpkin puree (not pie filling), and I had half and half, not heavy cream. Still turned out really delicious!

I was looking for a recipe that was similar to what I get on the cruise ships. This was really good, however, you might want to play with the cream to tomato ratio. I will reduce the cream by about 75% to get a tad bit more tomato flavor. Make sure to have some fresh bread (or a sandwich) with it to make a fantastic light meal.

My husband and I really enjoyed this soup. It was super easy to make and I served it with a grilled cheese sandwich. I added a splash of balsamic vinegar, oregano and basill for a little more flavor.

Love this tomato soup! It is tangy and comforting. I added more garlic than called for, because I love garlic. Made a grill cheese sandwich to go with it. Will be making this again!

Delicious! Super rich flavor. Used canned San Marzano tomatoes, and put just a pinch or two of flour in there to make it just a bit thicker. Do yourself a favor and serve this alongside a nice grilled cheese.

I sautéed onion, carrot and celery, about 1/2 cup each. After blending the tomatoes I strained to remove the seeds. I tempered the cream first before adding to the pot. This was delicious. Used an immersion blender. Served with some croutons and grated Parmesan cheese. Yum!

Perfect! Such a simple recipe, and so tasty. I used a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes and 2 14 oz cans of stewed tomatoes, but otherwise followed the recipe. My husband--who never likes tomato soup--loved it, and my adult son said it was the best tomato soup ever. We put in a handful of gluten free gourmet pasta and topped it with wide strips of parmesan and a sprinkle of dried basil, and served it with (what else?) gourmet grilled cheese on french bread. Wonderful update on comfort food! This is going to be a staple at our house.

I added more water and rice directly to the soup. I also added extra garlic. It was delicious.

Yummy!
Only had a 14oz can of fired roasted w/garlic diced tomatoes though, and 2 medium size tomatoes on a vine that had to be used -
(I peeled them with a paring knife by putting them in boiling water for approx. 15 sec, then putting the immediately in ice water - skin comes right off!)
Everything else was done for 4 servings.
I did use powdered garlic instead of minced.
And I forgot to add the salt and pepper, but it still tasted great!
