Really good! I topped it with sour cream, lime, cilantro and pico de gallo. Served it with tortilla chips.

Made it with heat and without heat. Tastes great both ways heat primarily comes from chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. A little heat comes from jalapeños, too. So very the amount of these ingredients to vary the heat in the soup. P.S.every soup tastes better when it’s left overnight in the refrigerator.

Spicy and delicious! I only used 2 Tbs. of chipotle and substituted chicken broth that I needed to use up.

Very nice but really spicy. Not sure that it needed both cayenne and chili powder with the jalapeño and chipotle peppers in adobo. Next time, I will probably nix one of those spices in order to turn down the heat.

Fantastic, will become a frequent recipe. I read the comments so I didn’t add any jalapeños this time. Next time I will. I also used a jar of peppers which worked great. I added chopped fresh chilli at the end. So I could taste the various ingredients and was spicy. I used the water from cooking the beans.

A bit too much heat for me - overpowers. Also, I think I maybe over-blended and wound up with something more like the consistency of refried beans or bean dip instead of soup.

Very tasty ! A little too spicy for us so I would put 1/3 of chiplote if you don’t want spicy. I will make again

This was the best soup I've made in a while! My two-year-old scarfed down three bowls of this soup, and still wanted more! We will definitely make this again.

Very good. I didnt have jalapenos but adding chilli flakes did the job for me. Also instead of using oil I used water to make it healthier. Certainly one of my favourite recipes. Easy, healthy, mexican? Wonderful. Looking forward to coming back to this one soon!

Very good flavor! However, as some of the other reviews have stated, it’s spicy, but it was perfect for us. I will definitely make this again. The directions need to be rewritten (no mention of lime juice and the other cup of broth). Added the lime juice and extra broth right before simmering. Also added about a cup of frozen corn.

It turned out really well. I used peppers I had on hand instead of the listed ones but followed the recipe otherwise.

Tastes good, it's pretty easy and quick to prepare and it's nutritious. I add yeast flakes and I think it makes it taste better, but that may just be me

Waaaay too spicy! Use only pinch of cayenne and leave out the chipotle peppers if you can’t tolerate super hot, spicy food.

This could be the best black bean soup I've ever had. Just the right amount of heat and lots of great flavor. I made it twice and definitely will make it again!!

Delicious! Very spicy and hearty. I was out of a few ingredients but still turned out so tasty. I didn’t have jalopeno or chipotle peppers. I used a large red and yellow pepper. Used 3 tomatoes. Couldn’t see where in the recipe the lime was supposed to be added? I liked the texture and having partially blended the beans. Definitely will be making often. Great winter lunch or dinner.

Very good! Will need to make a double batch next time. I used fire roasted diced tomatoes instead of the chili in adobo sauce.

This soup is delicious! Perfect blend of spicy and creamy. The cilantro and avacado on top add a little more spice and cream. Make sure you have some tortillas or tostadas for dipping!
