Description
Caramel, nuts, and chocolate chips bake together in oatmeal cookie dough. Meet your new favorite dessert bar! The recipe is a Yummly original created by Sara Mellas.
Ingredients

- 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 oz. chocolate chips (6 oz. is 1 cup)
- 4 oz. finely chopped walnuts (or pecans, 4 oz. is 1 cup)
- 3 oz. salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade, 3 oz. is 3/4 cup)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the softened butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract into a large bowl. Use a mixer to cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 1 minute. Add the egg and continue to beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, 30 seconds to one minute.

ok for a quick snack but not a dessert you would serve for a party
