- 2 cups roasted chicken (shredded, any part of the chicken will do, both white and dark meat would be great for flavor)

It turned out great!! I doubled the recipe for my tribe and added 6 cloves of garlic and bone broth!! Sooo goood!!!!

Followed recipe to the t. Dumplings fell all to pieces mostly. I tried not to stir at all but didn't help. Came out about like soft biscuit dough and I felt like that was not good. Should have trusted my instincts.

It turned out fantastic I double the recipe and used one box of chicken bone broth instead of just chicken broth which gave it a little more chicken flavor. Of course. Haven’t made the dumplings yet I’m gonna make those Last. I use my Le Creuset Dutch oven and let it simmer for hours on low this is perfect. Can’t wait to make the dumplings saving those for last before we eat.

Amazing! I doubled the recipe and was able to feed 6 people with plenty of leftovers. Everyone loved it. I think next time I make this I will halve the thyme and add a bay leaf.

I used another recipe to make the soup part and came here for the dumplings when the others didn’t come together. These dumplings are just as described! Delicate pillows of deliciousness. I added a bit of madras curry powder to spice them up cuz I like to be fancy. ;D This is THE dumpling recipe. Fantastic!

Update Dec 22 - made it again. This time I boiled the chicken and made the soup as per below. To avoid making the soup AND the balance of the chicken/dumplings recipe with more celery,carrots and onion I simply took 4 laddles of the soup into a Dutch oven and completed the rest of the recipe. Make sure to reserve 2 cups of stock from the initial chicken boil for the dumplings

In the directions on the website there is a link to making chicken soup. It speaks to boiling one chicken. I lightly boiled the chicken for 75 mins in bay leaves, salt, pepper, and some veggie scraps I keep for making veggie stock. It was perfectly done and falling apart. I let it cool then pulled it apart.
I followed the rest of the recipe to the letter with lots of chicken. Was decadent and filling.

Easy recipe to make. Used dark meat and made the dumplings perfect. Nice meal for 3. I like my hot peppers so some habanero sliced real small added the kick I like. I will make again. It would be easy to ruin so follow the chefs ideas.

Very good fall dish. Dumplings were tender and plump. You could add all kinds of vegetables to this dish and would come out great.

Cozy and delicious perfect for a fall day! We don’t like celery so we didn’t include it and it turned out well. I also substituted parsley for chives in the dumplings which was ok.

It was a little work involved but it was definitely worth it at the end. Everyone had seconds and this dish WILL BE MADE AGAIN!!! 😋

Turned out great even better as leftovers. Used a bag of mixed frozen vegetables along with fresh onion and celery would make again!

it was a hit with the fam! very yummy. barely any leftovers. i will certainly make it again. maybe I'll add bits of potatoes next time.

Perfectly delicious! Are use better than bouillon vegetable flavoring in my dumplings as one other had suggested. I also used a bit in my broth to add extra liquid to the 32 ounces of broth already at it. Are used one whole rotisserie chicken cut up. And I use lots of extra celery, onion and carrots. Best of the broth was sweet without any extra additives. My dumplings came out perfect. I would make over and over again ❤️

I have made this a few times , and it always turns out amazing. Only thing is I add some chicken bullion and sage to dumplings and leave out the chives, I also steam the dumplings in my rice cooker and leave the peas and veg until very last( they always tend to burn otherwise). My husband wants me to make this a weekly meal. It’s very hearty and the dumplings are wonderful!
