- 1 pinch baking soda (optional, but good for tougher cuts of meat)
- 1 tsp. dark soy sauce (mushroom flavored preferred)
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. oil
- 1 Tbsp. hot water
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. light soy sauce (or regular)
- 2 tsp. dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. msg (totally optional!)
- ground white pepper (Fresh)
- 5 cups cooked rice
- 3 Tbsp. canola oil (divided)
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 medium onion (diced)

This was delicious. I made it with venison steak as we didn’t have beef and stirred in a tablespoon of Sambal Olek at the end.

Made with a few small tweaks like adding garlic to the steak and using a thick cut and it was amazing! Would recommend!

Followed recipe and taste was very bland. Next time I’ll add more sesame oil, sesame seeds and chili sauce to give it more kick.
