There was something off about the balance of spices, it didn’t do justice to the mushrooms at all and it made the chicken taste like an afterthought

It was excellent! I would use smaller chickens next time, the chicken breasts I had were huge. In the attempt to make sure my chicken was thoroughly cooked, my sauce got reduced so I just added 1/4 cup wine and 1/4 cup chicken broth. It was so good. Definitely recommend and will make again. This would be great with chicken thighs as well (I think so).

Great tasting! I added carrots and replaced the onion with shallots, and the cream with buttermilk that I had on hand, and instead of breasts, I used legs.
