Made this for dinner last evening. Needed to make some substitutions and minor changes. I used Turkey bacon which does not render out much fat when frying. I added two tablespoons of butter for cooking the flour and onions/garlic. I don't have an immersion blender-but I do have a hand held potato masher. I used this to break up the potato dices for a wonderful thick creamy potato soup. I took a small sample when it was done-to check seasoning levels--it was so good, I couldn't wait--we had dinner early! Strongly recommend you try this!

Made this for dinner tonight and it was amazing!!! I don’t own an immersion blender but since we all loved this recipe, I am purchasing one right away! I only blended mine for five seconds (in a blender) and I would have liked a little more chunks.

been trying to find my mothers potatoe soup recipe and this one comes close. a few minor adjustments and i have it. This is the second best potatoe soup I've had.

This was wonderful and so simple! Our family is doing the Daniel Fast and I replaced the flour with almond flour and a can of coconut cream instead of the milk and cream, and added nutritional yeast as a thickener and a cheese supplement. It turned out great! It will be a regular soup for our family at any time!

Turned out well, I doubled it and added a bit more half and half so it wasn’t so thick. I only puréed about 20 percent of it. I like it chunky

EXCELLENT! Temperatures here today below freezing. This was a perfect tasty dinner with warm rolls and butter. Husband and son loved it. Not a quick meal to prepare, but worth it.

This turned out really well for me, it’s best to get all the ingredients prepared in advance so that you can just focus on getting the right tempo for the actual cooking, for example get the onion chopped, potatoes diced and soup broth ready. It’s also great to whiz the broth to leave half potato chunks and the rest as part of the broth. A nice green onion garnish is awesome!

It was really good! I didn’t blend it I mashed the potatoes but not to mushy and then added a little Italian season and parsley to the seasoning.

Omg so DIVINE on a cold fall evening! No notes, no changes. Just added some warm garlic bread on the side to dip. Super delicious! Will certainly make again, as this disappeared too quickly.
