It was moist but not cooked all the way through and the garlic tasted a little burnt. I've always roasted my chicken at 350.

I'm not sure if this is meant to be cooked indoors but after the first interval my home was filled with smoke from burning grease. As I thought about it 450 degrees using an open pan on the bottom shelf is just the ticket for a smoke filled home as the spattering grease hit the 450 degree oven sides and bottom. I was not about to crank the oven up to 500 degrees per the instructions! To make matters worse the dog went nuts when the smoke alarm went off. What did I miss in these instructions?

Really delicious, although I just popped into the roasting pan and threw it into the oven at 450 for 75 minutes. The meat was tender and the skin was crispy, and the entire bird was deliciously garlicky! Definitely into regular chicken rotation!

A hit for a family dinner to add more flavor, I sliced up a whole garlic and stuffed it inside the cavity.

I added fresh rosemary to mine, and it was awesome!!! This recipe definitely insures a crispy, beautiful bird.
