- 1 brown onion (finely sliced)

- 2 Tbsp. plain flour (I use spelt because that's what we keep in the pantry)
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable stock
- 3 Tbsp. tamari
- 1 1/2 tsp. rice syrup (or honey)
- 1 tsp. rice vinegar
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala
- tofu (Crispy)
- 300 grams tofu (medium to firm, Momen)
- 1/4 cup soy milk
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/3 cup crumbs (panic, vegan)
- vegetable oil (to shallow fry)
- steamed rice (to serve)
- sliced shallots (or spring onions to serve)
- carrots (julienne, to serve)
