I used ground turkey instead of sausage. i added some hot peppers and carrots. Left out the beans. It would be good with the beans as well, though.

This recipe was amazing. My husband and I loved it. I did it the non-crockpot version. I put everything in the pot and boiled it for about 40 min (you can stop whenever you want) and it turned out great. Some adjustments: I would add chili powder in increments as you cook to make sure it isn’t too spicy. I love spicy and can handle quite a bit, but it was a little overboard with a whole table spoon. Also, I added more broth to help it boil and am grateful I did.

It was delicious. Will make again with a better sausage. Did not salt till serving and that was a good idea

Very good! I used hot Italian sausage and it was so spicy and delightful! (I also added chili pepper flakes and Parmesan) My husband said he’d never had such a flavorful cabbage soup before. We both really enjoyed this recipe.
