    Delicious! I would suggest a little more sugar if the apples you are using aren’t too sweet. I used part Granny Smith apples and could have used a little more sugar. A pinch of nutmeg may be good also.

    I made the filling and it turned out perfect, but I’d never pre-cooked apple-pie filling before so wasn’t even thinking about how it would turn out after baking in an unbaked pie crust. By the time the crust was browned enough the apples had cooked down too much. Still tasted great though. Any suggestions?

    So easy and delicious. I added some nutmeg and used a combination of sweet and tart apples which keep their shape when cooked down. My son kept wandering into the kitchen because it smelled so good. This is my go to recipe from now on.

    I looked over several recipes on yumly and chose this one. It was super easy and the apples didn't cook down too much. I haven't baked it into a pie yet, so we'll see how it is then. So far I love it. The sauce turned out tasty and thick and the apples were still firm. Going to do more and stick it in the freezer.
