Grandma always made the best cookies. Now, you can too. This recipe for Grandmother’s Oatmeal Cookies is a close second to the nostalgic goodies. It takes 45 minutes to prepare these tasty and decadent cookies. Bring these cookies to the office and your co-workers will love you. - 150 grams butter
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract (or powder)
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup raisins

Directions
- Melt the butter in a pan, remove from heat.
- Add the oatmeal, eggs and sugar. Mix well.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, with the raisins last.

These cookies came out perfect. I bake them at 3:50° instead of 200 Celsius for 14 minutes and then cooled them before I took them off the sheets. I will make this recipe again, excellent!

Recipe says oatmeal, vs oats. Does this actually mean oatmeal, or does it mean uncooked oats? I see some reviews complaining the cookies are dry. If they used dry oats and the intention is to use oatmeal, that would definitely result in dry cookies.

They didn't turn out. I even refrigerated the dough and it just melted to a thin crisp cookie.

200 C = 392 F no way! These cookies would have been totally burned! I baked them at 350 F and still too well done in 15 minutes. I have turned my oven down to 325 F and have a second batch in now. The cookies are also not real sweet. I followed the recipe exactly and would add chocolate chips or more brown sugar. Don’t know if I will make these again….

These turned out really well! Im personally not a fan of rainsins, and was using this recipe to boost my breastmilk supply. I substituted the raisins for dark chocolate and walnuts!

and cook for 20 minutes.

Not great but will try again. Please post better instructions for novice bakers - I followed the instructions precisely but didn't realise the oats was supposed to absorb all that butter and eggs. Was a great wet mess, so I kept adding flour instead of allowing some standing time so it turned out dry

I like my cookies chewier and sweeter, but these are fine. Other folks in my household iked them more than I did. I had some dates I wanted to use up, so I used one cup of dates and a half cup of raisins, which worked just fine.

I am not a baker. I love to cook, but baking has never been a thing for me...until this recipe. I took everyones word this was a great cookie so i tried it. My cookies have always come out bread like. These did not. I made them for my husband and will definatly make them again. Crunchy on the edge and chewy in the center. Perfect and Thank you.

I cut the sugar in half and these are the oatmeal cookies of my childhood! I un-yum’d all other oatmeal cookie recipes I had!

Very good, although I had to use bicarbonate of soda instead of baking powder, as I had run out! They were moist yet crumbly, and just the right amount of sweet❤️

I subbed craisins for the raisins and added a dash of cinnamon. Delicious 😊
(At 15 minutes at 375° F the edges were crisp and the middle was chewy.)

I really liked these cookies! They were hard and soft at the same time, just delicious! They said to cook for 15 minutes but I cooked for 25. I always have to add more time to everything that I bake so maybe it’s just my oven. I added coconut and chocolate chips too. I recommend this recipe to you all and will be making these again!
It’s a while later and I did make them again! This time I added a few twists and personally they came out better. Also at the end I made the cookies way too big because I doubled the batter, BUT instead of just putting the stuff on the pan, I hand rolled them into balls and the cookies came out fuller and they cooked better too. I recommend this at the end because you are also able to cook more cookies on one pan instead of needing to use multiple. They took a bit longer to cook, 30-35ish minutes. Please try this recipe out!

Best oatmeal cookies ever! I tried this recipe today and loved the texture. The oatmeal made it taste awesome! Also, I love how this recipe is so easy. I didn't use raisins because I didn't have any. I will definitely be making these again!
