Comforting and savory! I don’t agree with the reviews of too much seasoning. Love the flavorful, peppery sauce balancing out the richness of the dumplings and sauce. Delish! Everyone in the family asked me to make more often.

I loved this recipe, I did not use bay leaves or the sherry wine. I also used about half the seasoning and it was delicious!!

Way too much seasoning and very soupy for my liking. The dumplings themselves were good but I prefer a thicker, creamier soup base.

Came out great. Family loved it. Will make again.

This is every bit as delicious as the author describes. I’ve made this I think four times now in the last six months. Make exactly as the recipe describes. An absolute winner, thanks so much for sharing it.

I cook it in my dutch oven on the stove. i reduce the sodium by using salt free chicken bullion as well as omitting the seasoning salt. there is still plenty of salt from the dumplings sice i use Pioneer Brand Biscut mix. I add 1tbsp of black pepper to the dumpling mix as well. it turns out amazing every time. I personally think it has a lot to do w the cast iron dutch oven, (everything tastes better in cast iron to me.) I have made this dish over a dozen times and I eill continue to make it many more.

This was easy and quite tasty

This turned out amazing! The herbs and seasonings were a bit overpowering, so next time I’m going to cut each measurement by 1/4tsp. The chicken was delicious and so tender, and the consistency of the liquid was more like a broth than gravy, so if you like it thicker I suggest you add more cornstarch slurry!

Very good & basically the same as my family's southern chicken and dumplings I'm used to.

It was delicious and tender

It wasn’t the chicken and dumplings that we were accustomed. I do love the flavors though. I will make this again but will leave the salt out; it was too salty for us. The dumplings were perfect!

Too much seasoning. Other than that it was good. The dumplings were perfect.

Enjoyed by all, including my usually picky husband. Lots of broth, lots of chicken. Will probably add a double batch of the dumplings next time. Will make this again!

I cooked this on the stove and still a great meal. I will make this again.

Great! However I think I accidentally used baking soda instead of cornstarch because it fizzed when I added the slurry...lol! But it was still good.

This is certainly not a 30-minute-weeknight-recipe! The 65 minute estimate is about right!
I cut some corners on this one but it did come out well. I only sautéd up onions at the start then added frozen mixed vegetables later when I stirred the pulled chicken back into the pot. I
also added in more spices (lots of parsley, pepper, and Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute). No cornstarch, so I used a bit of flour with water instead.
The recipe for the dumplings was great and super easy. I left them a little more thick than recommended but liked the way they cooked up.
I’ll try this recipe again in winter and try to make big batch.

Oh my goodness! This was my first time making dumplings and I was nervous. They turned out perfect. Instead of using store bought poultry seasoning I made my own. Very flavorful!

This recipe did not disappoint. My family raved about it
