Different but delicious! Served with rice and turmeric cauliflower (a recipe inside the recipe) and it was really good, next time I think I’ll cut the lemon up a bit instead of just slicing it to give it a more consistent pop of brightness. Cooked both dishes at 420 for 15 minutes. (Cauliflower in a medium glass pan, chicken in cast iron) used 2lbs of chicken.

Super delicious and so easy! Didn’t have figs so used Medjool dates cut into quarters. Otherwise, followed recipe to a T. Great balance of spices, heat, acid and sweetness. Put spice blend in a gallon zip bag, added the chicken, tossed it in the fridge for the day, tossing it around anytime I was near the fridge. So very easy clean up off one non stick skillet!

I will definitely make this again, but with a few modifications. It was good, but not quite spicy enough for me, so just a tiny bit more spices next time. And I forgot to buy cilantro, and forgot to add the parsley that i did buy, so that's a must for next time. Carrots are not my favorite vegetable, but I think eggplant would be really nice. I'm still undecided on the figs. I kinda liked them, but they were a little too sweet so I might leave them out next time. Everybody else loved it though, so it was a success. Really 4.5+ stars, not just 4.

It was ok. Next time I’ll dice a fresh tomato instead of canned diced because I think it took away from the flavor. Will also try peppercorn as another reviewer suggested.

Turned out GREAT! Family loved it and made it a second time

Delicious! Used dates instead of figs, worked well. Added cauliflower and green beans besides the carrots, and 1/2 tsp more of salt. We loved it.

Can't even get the recipe

Great flavorful dish! This is a family favorite. I sometimes double the spices to kick it up a few notches. We'll be making this again soon.

Everyone liked it, even the kids. I toned down the cayenne, pumped up the other spices a bit, added a can of garbanzo beans, and served over large couscous I might use sliced olives next time, but whole olives were easy to pick out for the kids.

Went a little heavier on the spices and a touch more salt. Also, added I extra broth and vegetables. Turned out great!

This was good, but imo the flavor wasn’t very complex. Next time I’ll add some whole cloves and peppercorns to the broth, and more chili powder for the chicken.

so far the broth is awesome, just placed chicken in oven for cooking, looking forward to dinner.
I did not add a whole can of tomatoes, just half, added two chopped dates.
had on hand , was easy on cumin because it is over powering.
will serve over rice.

Quick & tender chicken stew recipe except for dispensing all the spices, not regularly used in our casa...
We used our own dried CA mission figs & homemade naan!
Next time, I'll amp up the spices. & add a few apricots too!
Thanks, Cedar Spoon

Excellent! My whole family (including a 4 year old and 1.5 yr old) loved it. I did use a little less of the spicy spices because of the kids and it still has tons of flavor, but if you like things spicy, follow the recipe as-is. Also, I used skinless thighs, and it still was great-just required less cooking time. We'll be adding this into our regular rotation!

Really well received - added a few apricots as well - did in crockpot - must make again

This was delicious. I cant wait to make it for company.

This was a huge hit with the entire family. I used skin on, bone in thighs because that's what I had on hand. I doubled the recipe because of the amount of chicken. We ate this for three days and it got better and better. Don't skip the olives and figs! I served it with rice seasoned with some of the leftover spices.

Tasty I cut back on the tomato adding only a handful from the garden. Still had plenty of juice . Spice on point. Pared with cilantro lime rice. Will make again

Very nice. I put chickpeas in mine

Delicious - and I did the lazy version (dump all ingredients except garnish) into instant pot

I ended up cutting this recipe in half (it turned out I only had half the chicken) and it was still great! Next time, I might cut back a bit on the cayenne. I like spicy food, but I think the amount cayenne killed the balance a bit. Really nice over fruity couscous.
