This was so salty it was inedible. I’m not sure what happened because I didn’t add any salt. I tasted it halfway through cooking and it was fine. I think I may have kept it in the crockpot too long and over reduced the sauce. I will make this again and try cooking it for a shorter time. I did 6 hours on low. So beware if you want to crockpot this recipe for a while it may be salty.

Making this today, have everything ready. Did not want to use Roux, so glad this recipe does not call for it. I will Saute the Trinity, and then add Thighs for a extra flavor. Put all in my Slow Cooker. i hour on high, 3 on low. Then add the Seafood. Making Brown Rice or Wild Rice.

This is a very good gumbo. Easy. Good spice, although I did add additional Cajun seasoning. I also added a can of chicken broth to thin it out. One suggestion: the Yum recipe says 3 lbs of chicken. The bloggers recipe says 2 lbs. Would be nice to have a consistent amount. I went with 3. Still, very very good.

I didn’t have chicken or celery. But good thing about gumbo, as long as you have all the spices any meat or veggies will work

Came out delicious!! I changed it up a little bit of course and added some Spanish seasonings like cilantro that my family is used to. I also added 1 cup of rice and 4 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of water to make it more like a thick soup and cooked in the quick pot —— soooo good! Yum we will make this again at some point

next time, need to try no tomatoes paste. kids thought it was a bit tomatoey for a gumbo and i agree. i also added 2 cups chicken broth since there was no liquid base. i had to add more salt as well

I'm not a seafood eater and had to use prawns and loved it after a few nights of left overs. This one grew on me.
