A classic roasted turkey filled with savory homemade bread stuffing. The recipe is a Yummly original created by Sara Mellas.

- 1 whole turkey (11-14 lb., giblets removed, patted dry)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt (for turkey)
- black pepper (to taste, for turkey)
- 1/4 cup butter (softened, for turkey)
- 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 6 oz. day old bread
- 1/2 onion (about 3/4 cup diced)
- 1 stalk celery (about 1/4 cup diced)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp. butter (for stuffing)
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. dried rosemary
- 1 tsp. dried sage
- 1/2 tsp. salt (for stuffing)
- black pepper (to taste, for stuffing)
- 1 egg white
- 1 1/4 cups chicken broth (for stuffing)
- 2 cups chicken broth (for roasting)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Adjust a rack to the lowest position in the oven.
- Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil and position a roasting rack inside of it.
- Liberally season the turkey with salt and black pepper, taking care to season the outside as well as the internal cavity. Set the turkey breast side up onto the roasting rack and tuck the wing tips underneath the body.

I amended the recipe by adding extra spices and hqlf cup of water before putting it in the oven and it came out really good.

bomb! I added chopped carrots to the stuffing, used fresh herbs instead of dried, and stuffed fresh herbs ubder the skin of the turkey before cooking to give it even more flavor. Bird cooked for 3.5 hours, made gravy from the drippings, couldnt be happier!
