So glad you posted this recipe, delicious...This is the way I like mine too, with chicken broth instead of beef. I just omit the rice and cumin, simply because I don't keep them on hand and some of my family's not fond of rice. A very flavorful soup, easy to make in one pot. Perfect with a pan of cornbread. Ideal meal for when you want something in the pot on a cool rainy day.
