I made this for my boyfriend because he was deep in his man cold and NEEDED soup. I upped the garlic, onion, and meat a bit so he could really taste it. He said it's his new favorite thing and even wants me to make it for his mom to try at Christmas dinner! It really is a great recipe, and also very flexible to modifications. Loved it!

So hearty - it’s a family favorite!

This recipe was delicious!! We love this soup at olive garden, and it tasted like olive garden’s!

Open to substitutions: sausage or ground turkey, potatoes or great northern beans, kale or spinach. We usually double or triple the heartier ingredients. Definitely needs spices like oregano, rosemary, thyme, pepper.

Ours was quite thin in the liquid department, not my favorite soup

Super good! The only changes I make are to make it lower sodium using no salt chicken broth and home made Italian sausage. I do also substitute the cream with half a block of reduced fat cream cheese. And lastly, frozen spinach works in lieu of kale when your in a bind! This soup is a regular fo us!

Delicious and so simple. Next time I’ll go with a low sodium chicken stock since the bacon provides so much

Delicious! Made it as is, I used smoked bacon because that’s all I could get, so it had quite a strong flavor but it was good. Will definitely make again!

Awesome! Very much enjoyed the full flavor of this recipe. Added more water and cream than called for and put 2 tablespoons of bacon fat for flavor.

Loved it! Added more kale and cayenne pepper to give it the more signature kick. Also hack the breadsticks with Greenmill breadsticks from the grocery store cook them on 400 for 5 minutes butter liberally and add lots of garlic salt and you’ve got unlimited soup and breadsticks for a fraction of the cost
