I needed a mild chili for young children but also flavorful enough for the grown-ups. This recipe was just what I was looking for and the adults can add extra heat as they wish. This was a hit for everyone!

Easy to follow. I like my food sweet so I use cinnamon sugar enough to make 4 bowls and it was good eating use the slow cooker(crockpot). Definitely getting added to my cook book.

I made this recipe because it got 10k likes or whatever..upon reviewing the ingredient list, I noticed as approached the bottom of said list, that my cringe-o-meter was giving some pretty strong feedback.
3 ingredients caught my eye. Cinnamon, Worcestershire sauce and chocolate chips. I was nervous about adding them so I only used about 1/3 the amount of each. After sampling the result I decided to omit all 3 as the flavors belong in some other type of food. Not chili. Maybe it would have been better had I added the vinegar too....vinegar?....yep, vinegar. It’s probably an amazing chili if I had just tripled the amount I added.... I could tell that by leaving out all that weird stuff it would have been very good.

Wonderful chili! Slightly sweet in taste and not spicy even with the chili powder! Added a dash of tiger sauce additionally! Let simmer on low for 9ish hours over the day added beans last hour!

Great flavor, but a tad watery...might cut the water amount to 1 cup...

delicious. added an extra can of beans.

easy to make but I adjusted the seasoning. i increased the red pepper and chile powder.
i also used kidney beans and black beans.

i really liked it. you end up with a pretty bold flavor and i think thats where the chocolate chips come in.

Very good, not sure I’ll put the vinegar in next time. Maybe less. Easy peasy, I added chopped jalapeño (most of the seeds removed), chopped red bell pepper, bay leaf, and dried basil. Will use this recipe again!

Tasted good, but the cinnamon didn't do anything for me. Unclear about the chocolate chips too. Also added more beans.

This may sound a bit weird, but adding 1/2 tbsp of fish sauce; it rounds out the flavors nicely, especially the savory ones. I'd recommend using a tbsp of cocoa power, plus 1/2 - 3/4 (i.e., to taste) tbsp brown sugar rather than the chocolate chips as the cocoa and brown sugar aren't processed like most chips.

Looks a lot like the chili I make. Sounds weird but try to add a very little bit of "crab boil". It adds a small amount of heat and tastes great!

Yummly User 5 years ago
Very good, I need to add a little more red pepper and a bell pepper.

Yummly User 5 years ago
Turned out great! I like that little bit of Cinnamon flavor! Easy to make and I doubled it!

I ended up mixing this recipe with another chili recipe it was delicious together!

Next time will add a little less water....but really good!

Yummly User 5 years ago
It was very good tasty. I added more chili powder, and (yes I know it’s technically not chili with beans) but I added a large can of pinto beans. Came out fantastic

Yummly User 5 years ago
It was awesome , l made it a little bit more spicy than your recipe. thanks

Yummly User 5 years ago
Not thick enough even tho I decreased the water, will add more beans next time
