  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles (box of dry, you will need 16 noodles. A one pound box contains 20 noodles so you will have four extra. Usually a few get broken so this usually works out)
  • 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup onions (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. sausages (meat, ground Italian, hot or sweet your choice)
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes (canned, we use Cento)
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano (dry)
  • 2 Tbsp. basil (dry, or 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil)
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp. chopped fresh mint
  • 2 lb. whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Italian parsley (chopped fresh)
  • 2 1/2 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. fresh mozzarella (sliced into 12 slices)
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    My first time cooking lasagna. Directions were easy to follow. I used ground turkey instead of beef and it was amazing. Would definitely use this recipe again.

    Used as a pattern. Filling: 15 oz Container of ricotta. 2 cups shedded mozzarella, 2 eggs, lightly beaten. Spices: basil, oregano,garlic powder, Italian seasoning. Layer thin sliced mozzarella between layers. Finish with sliced mozzarella & light sauce. Cook 20 mins day before. Use own sauce.

    Fantastic. I would definitely make this again. I used homemade lasagna noodles made in my Philips pasta machine. It takes time but it’s worth every minute

    This is absolutely amazing!! I followed everything except red pepper flakes and mint but only cause I didn’t have any on hand! Made a nice salad to go on the side and it felt like I was at Olive Garden! Definitely adding this recipe to my book!

    Most excellent, takes extra 1/2 hour to cook if refrigerated before hand. So good my husband had to go back for thirds!

    Used this recipe having never made lasagna before and everyone absolutely loved it. I found that it didn't need that last layer of noodles and tomato sauce so I leave if off. Will definitely be making this again.

    Turned out well and this was my first time making lasagna! I will make it again, with some minor changes. Just my preference, I will use less oregano.

    Used cottage cheese. First 2 layers oven ready lasagna noodles...top layer...boiled regular lasagne noodles

    First time making lasagna, and it was amazing!!!! Everyone was impressed by this dish! So tasty! Followed everything to a T but forgot the eggs (oops duh I know) but honestly it made no difference at all! This dish was awesome! I used fresh parsley and basil from my garden. I even used part skim milk ricotta cheese and reduced fat mozzarella-No one could tell the difference!! I will definitely be making this again in the near future !!!!! Highly recommend! It’s also enough for a large crowd or great for many yummy leftovers! Thanks for this recipe xx

    “No chef” but today I’m feeling like one! Turned out absolutely amazing. I followed the directions to the “T”... minus the sausages— I used Polska Kielbasa sausages instead. Very flavorful!

    This came out amazing! Everyone loved it. Next time I will definitely add more of the ricotta cheese mixture as it was phenomenal :)
