I've made similar in the past, but never with cumin. I didn't realize how meaty flavored the spice was. My boyfriend "needs" meat in his daily diet *severe eye roll* and he was surprised it was just beans and the added cheese. As someone who is trying to stay away from meat as much as possible, it definitely curbed my craving for meat as well. 10/10 - making as a weekly snack.

I added some onion powder to the beans as well, topped with sour cream and salsa

Pretty good I added onion powder and fresh cilantro to the black bean mash. I didn’t have chili powder so added red pepper flakes instead. I also added a bit of cheese. Served it with a side of collard greens, sour cream, and avocado.

These were so easy, delicious, and packed with flavor. I added about 1/2 tsp each of garlic powder onion powder to the black bean mixture which probably wasn’t necessary as these were so flavorful. Will definitely make again and again!

good. Very basic but fine for a quick lunch. I added cheese for the kids to make it more interesting to them.

this was great!! didn't have cumin so substituted 1/4 tsp taco seasoning & 1/4 tajin & it SLAPPED. would make again! pretty easy to do even though the amount of oil was half iffy, had to pour more in half way. was good on its own & didn't need sour cream or anything! deffo making again, easy, cheap & fast
Edit: also forgot to note we added black olives to the mix!!! This was a great addition bc the taste mixed right in and it made it last a little longer
