I add garlic, onions, sweet peppers, mushrooms & spinach plus lots of herbs.
The 1/2 c of butter made it way too greasy. The cheese provided more than enough.
Will I make it again? Yes...
But cut the butter out.

I would suggest a can of chopped green Chile's. I add that to my tater tot casserole which is a bit similar.

This is a good start but the hamburger layer is bland. I will add onion and seasonings next time. The hashbrown layer is good as is. I used cream of mushroom because i dont like cream of chicken and i didn't add salt because I feel the ingredients were already salty enough. Kid friendly, will make again.

Very delicious. Missing ingredient amounts, so I had to make adjustments. (These are my notes for cooking again next time.) 1.25 pounds of hamburger meat, mixture of cheese ( Mexican cheese mix, sharp cheddar and mozzarella) , garlic salt, 1/2 diced onion and all other ingredients listed in recipe. Once finished add diced jalapeños to each serving .

I doubled the cheese mixed in with the milk and hashbrowns and topped with even more cheese (we love our cheese 😊). I also added finely chopped onion cooking them with the hamburger and seasoned with garlic powder. It turned out MUCH better this time than the first time I tried this recipe. Also, it was much easier because I remembered that even my large mixing bowl wasn’t big enough to mix the milk, butter, soup and hashbrowns last time so I used a very large salad bowl.

Taste was great! However, swimming in butter. Will half the butter next time... and there will be a next time!

Very good recipe. We added mozzarella and breadcrumbs to the surface of the casserole and made it soooooo yummy!

Good as a base for whatever you want to doctor it up with. Great idea.
