- salt (to season generously)
- 1 medium onion (sliced thickly)
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper (or 2 tsp if you prefer it spicier)
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 6 cloves garlic
- thyme
- 1 cup beef stock (I used homemade chicken and beef broth)
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch (cornflour)
- 1 Tbsp. water

Good….
Pretty much used the exact recipe. One non beef eater so added a split chicken breast. It was delicious, but the beef was better. :-)

Permanently in dinner rotation, especially when we have guests. We serve with roasted potatoes and carrots.

Easy recipe and you need an instant pot for this one as searing the meat is critical for good flavoring. This is a family favorite and have now made it twice.

I wasn’t impressed. However, I think it may because the ribs were really fatty. If I were to do it over again I’d put it in the refrigerator over night and skim the fat off.

This was my first time using my instapot and my first time making short ribs, and I have to say they were amazing! I followed the recipe exactly except I added a whole can of beef broth instead of just the cup because my instapot said to pressure cook with no less than 2 cups of liquid. They were tender and delicious. The sauce was really good! I was told to make them again! I was so impressed with my first creation that I even took a picture!

Loved it! Meat came out tender and moist. Gravy was also delicious. This is a keeper!

The sauce flavor was great. I’ve made this twice now. First time, following cooking instructions, and meat was hard as a rock. Made it a second time and cut cooking time to 22 mins and it was still hard as a rock. Pretty annoyed because I spent a lot of money on meat.

Delicious
Yes I would make it again. One of my ribs was about twice as big as the others so I stuck it back in for 10 minutes. I forgot to put in the thyme but it was really good, my husband liked the flavor. This was my first time using my instant pot, but it was a good recipe to use.
