This was my first try at homemade brownies!
A Kitchn recipe seemed like a good place to start.
I didn’t use the cocoa recommended and I added a bit of applesauce to avocado oil for blooming the cocoa. I added about a quarter cup of chocolate chips to the batter and sprinkled more on top before baking.
I baked at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and they came out VERY fudgy. The flavor is good but I needed to leave them in for a few more minutes to set up. I will probably come back to this recipe but definitely want to try a few more before I settle on my go-to brownie recipe!

I used the 13x9” pan, so I doubled this recipe but I didn’t melt the butter, sugar and cocoa in a microwave but just melted the butter and mixed it with the others and at the end mixed in a packet of coffee crystals and sprinkled chopped walnuts on top before baking. The batter is very thick/dense when it’s all mixed up.

These were okay, but lack depth of flavor. I’d definitely use butter instead of canola oil if I ever made them again. Also the mixing times in the recipe are absurd, unless you’re using a hand-crank mixer, for some reason.
