This is a go-to Sunday evening meal for our family. Rich tasty sauce really brings all the flavors together.

This came out so amazing!! Don’t be weirded out when all the ingredients go in the crockpot - the liquid won’t be enough to submerge everything, but over the 8 hour cook period, a lot more liquid will come out from the beef and the potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Made some orzo to have with it, and some fresh bread from our local Cobs with butter.

Delicious! i had to modify it for the pressure cooker a bit and i didn't have chopped thyme, so i used herbs de Provence instead. Cut the wine by 1/2 a cup and thickened it at the end with some corn starch. added a sprig of rosemary, one bay leaf and 1/2 tsp of MSG. OMG sooo good!

It didn’t thicken as much so I added more flour.

My favorite winter cozy recipe from Yummly. I make this recipe every winter at least once. It’s absolutely delicious, everybody loves it!

Absolutely delicious! the flavour was all there and the texture was perfect. ths only issue i had is that it was too salty, not considering the bacon, soya sauce and the bouillion, i over salted the meat before browning it. Making it too much. other then that, wonderful recipe, one to impress a date!

This is a fav of mine and the family. I always use a Pinot noir and always add extra bacon (I mean there can never be enough bacon) I put mine on low over night and I also add some olive oil when searing the meat (a greek thing olive oil on everything) this is just so tasty it a weekly meal for us

Turned out great! I cooked on high for 6 hours and the meat (I used tri-tip) was very tender. I also substituted a few things: 1 tsp dried thyme instead of fresh, 1/2 can of tomato paste instead of tomato sauce, cornstarch instead of flour, tamari instead of soy sauce and I added 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce. The onions were mentioned in the notes before the recipe but not listed as an ingredient. I used 1 large onion chopped into chunks that I cooked in the leftover bacon grease after the meat was seared.

Absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to make it again!

I made this today and as a beginner to cooking I found it wasn’t too hard to make and tasted great when it was ready. The meat just fell apart, so it was perfect. I added extra bacon and a little less thyme than was required but still turned out good. And we have enough left over for tomorrow.

This is a family favorite! Even my "picky eater" loves it. Very quick and easy!

my family loves this recipe. The only thing I change is I dont salt the beef, as the bacon gives enough salt.

Family approved. Maybe it's my crockpot, but it could have cooked a little less. Meat almost over cooked. Flavor was delicious

Very good. I made this the night before, and then threw it in the multi cooker in the morning. I didn’t have mushrooms, and no grocery run during the lockdown so... I added a sweet potato and I put some frozen peas and corn in a half hour before finish.

Ok, to be honest I’m a little frustrated after reading the comments on the recipes page. It did not say to drain anything, so not only did I leave the bacon grease in but I also left the liquid from browning the meat. Second, nowhere does it say to use Worcestershire sauce. It says Soy so that’s what I used, only to find out from the chef in the comments that they use Worcestershire. I’m pretty certain I ruined it but it’s cooking now, and after over an hour of prep, I definitely hope I didn’t. I kindly suggest updating the recipe.

Cooking right now. I did some modifications. Instead of soy sauce I used coconut aminos, and instead of flour I did use gluten free flour to make the recipe gluten free. Gluten free flour clumps up pretty bad so I took the sauce and slowly poured it together then I took it into the blender and slowly added the flour. I did this fairly quickly so it didn’t lose to much heat and then I threw it back into the pan till it simmered while wisking. I also cooked the chuck in the bacon fat. Big win. I also added a bit of stock and wine in when it was all done. Didn’t measure veggies just tossed them in as I saw fit. This will be a member of the clean plate club. Might put over chick pea macaroni

This was a huge hit for our family of four. The only change I made was I didn’t add the tricolour potatoes. I decided to put this stew on top of mashed potatoes instead. This was such a wonderful and delicious comfort meal.

Awesome recipe! No modifications! Great taste!

I added a few extra seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper) while cooking the meat, and they went a long way. The was a little involved for a slow cooker recipe, but I did like the result. Won’t rush to make it again, but I’ll revisit.
