  • 2 large potatoes (cut into 1/2″ chunks)
  • 1 cup fresh green beans (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 lb. beef (stew-meat, chunks)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. fresh thyme
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 3 cups beef stock
  • 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

    Excellent, the best stew I’ve made. I did substitute the beef with sirloin and I added a can of peas! Delicious!!

    Delicious! Very hearty, loved it. I put three stalks of chopped celery, replaced the green beans with mushrooms (8oz). Will definitely make again, many, many times.

    It was fantastic! I increased almost all of the ingredients because I had 2 lbs beef. I didn't double the recipe though.

    I did change the quantity of the beef stock. I used 4 cups instead of 3. I was a little concerned about not browning the beef before putting it in the slow cooker. All in all I did enjoy it and would make it again.😊😊😊

    Hello, I did make the Beef Stew Recipe. It came out great! Yes, I did modify it a little. I follow mostly the directions and added my own something, something. I added Small porter bella mushrooms about a cup. I also added about a 1/2 cup of Chopped Celery. I did 1/2 of the Thyme instead of 1 Tsp. That was enough to me. I put it on 5 hours high in my Slow Cooker, served over a bed of yellow rice. Perfect!

    This is one of the best beef stews I have ever made. The only item I added was a can of petite tomatoes.
