- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 4 jumbo eggs (room temperature)
- 2 3/4 cups cake flour (sifted)
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup strawberry puree (made from fresh or frozen strawberries, make an additional 2 cups of puree to drizzle over the cake slices or to lay the slices on top of a pool of puree.)
- 2 cups frosting (the mascarpone cheese, ingredients listed next)
- 1 1/2 cups strawberries (fresh, sliced)
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 16 oz. mascarpone cheese (/tubs, softened)
- confectioner's sugar (8 cups powdered)
- 1 tsp. butter extract
